Kareem Bandealy & J. Nicole Brooks
J. Nicole Brooks aka Docta Slick (Taurus) and Kareem Bandealy (Cancer) are comrades in art, originating collaborators of Sunset 1919: A Ritual, and both Ensemble and Staff members of Lookingglass Theatre Company. Brooks is an actor, director, author, and current Mellon Foundation National Playwright Resident Ensemble Member. Kareem is an actor, playwright, and Creative Producer -New Engagements at Lookingglass.
Between them, they share many decades of credits in the theater (locally and nationally), in television and film, along with multiple awards and honors, including 3Arts Make a Wave Award (Brooks, 2017), 3Arts Award in Theater (Bandealy, 2011), Steinberg/ATCA Award (Brooks, 2021), and Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship (Bandealy, 2022). But who cares for counting? We're all winners if we're all together, and that is their joint vector.
